At the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM), the announcements of Jio GigaFibre were contrived. The commercial launch date of Jio fiber was the biggest news – September 5. Its the third anniversary is marked by the date of the launch of Jio’s services. Many other announcements were made too included a Jio Postpaid Plus plans for fiber customers, the Jio Fiber Welcome Offer and their partnership with Microsoft as well.
The Chairman of RIL and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani affirmed that 15 million registrations are been received by Jio GigaFiber for its Fiber home broadband service, and it’s anticipated to reach 20 million residences and 15 million business establishments across 1,600 towns. The initial step is been taken last year, 1,100 towns were declared. At present, 5 lakh homes are using Jio GigaFiber on a pilot basis. It’s been in testing since 2016.
The company plans that Jio GigaFiber will be priced between Rs. 700 and Rs. 10,000 per month, “meant to suit every budget, every need, and every segment”, Ambani said. He does affirm that with Jio Fiber, voice calls from home to any Indian operator (mobile or fixed) will be “eternally”. Its plans start from 100Mbps and for the 1Gbps people have to wait erstwhile.
Moreover, for fixed-line international voice calling, Ambani declared that the “lowest fixed-line rates for international calling”. The Jio Home phone’s blemish levy will be priced against a fifth to a tenth of the existing industry levy. International calling pack for calls to the US is unlimited and on per month basis, Canada was declared too for Rs. 500.
Ambani further informed at the Reliance AGM that Jio Fiber plans would come bundled with subscriptions to most leading premium OTT applications, such as Hotstar Premium and Netflix. Premium Jio Fiber customers will be capable to watch the newly released movies the same day. The following service is been named as Jio First-Day-First-Show, probably which would be launched by 2020.

The company’s Fiber technology’s subscribers will also be securing flexibility service, namely Jio Postpaid Plus which was meant to be a “platinum grade service”, it will tender priority SIM set-up service at home, family plans with data sharing, international roaming, and phone upgrades will be available at advantageous rates. Further details about the levies would be available on Jio.com and the My Jio app on September 5.
The Jio Fiber Welcome offer was informed already, where Jio Fiber subscribers choosing for the annual plans (Jio Forever Plans) would be getting an HD LED or 4K TV and a free 4K set-top box.

Ambani added that in 2 years in India, approximately, there would be 2 billion connected Io T devices.
